The Private Lives of Primates
1-27-05
Are you captivated by langurs and lemurs, marmosets and mandrills, gibbons and guenons? If the answer is yes, then the Bronx Zoo is the perfect place for you to find them all. This program will be highlighted by a visit to the Bronx Zoo’s rare and endangered ebony langurs. Take advantage of this perfect opportunity to join our expert instructional staff for an in-depth look into the complexities of primate social behaviors. Why do gibbons live in small family units while mandrills form large troops? These questions and others will be answered as you travel through JungleWorld to observe silver-leaf monkeys and white-cheeked gibbons. By the end of this program you’ll be able to explain why all monkeys are primates but not all primates are monkeys.
